Scientists at Harvard have engineered short, single-stranded DNA fragments that fold up on themselves to create little nano-sized tiles.  The tiles interlock with other tiles with a complementary DNA sequence. This means that the scientists could engineer many different tiles that all interlock to form over 100 different shapes, including letters of the alphabet!  But the real application here is to be able to use DNA to ferry drugs throughout the body without the risk of the immune system attacking the DNA.
